Johann Bernhard Bach, harpsichord player and organist at the court of the Prince of Sachsen-Eisenach and his cousin twice removed, Johann Sebastian Bach at the court in Köthen – both unite French elegance with Italian virtuosity and Thuringian down to earth qualities in their orchestral suites.

Together with the Baroque specialist, Midori Seiler, on the solo violin – as the court band in Gotha already an ensemble with an illustrious family tree dating from 1651 – the Thuringian Philharmonic creates a lively musical memorial to the Bach family and Thuringian Baroque.
