Victor Garcia Garcia, cellist and winner of the Leipzig Competition in 2024, is inspired in this recital by the so-called doubles. These are variations which Bach wrote as dance movements for his solo suites (above all the violin partita No 1 BWV 1002). Harmonically these pieces follow the model of variations but nevertheless demonstrate a completely different character and mood.

Counterposed to an arrangement for cello of the violin partita BWV 1002 Garcia has put together a new suite from a number of different movements from Bach’s suites for solo cello and will improvise doubles live in Bach’s style.
