tuned - network for contemporary classical music

tuned - Network for Contemporary Classical Music is a three-part pilot programme of the German Federal Cultural Foundation that aims to demonstrate innovative approaches and alternatives to the "classical" concert business.

In the first step, a network of six festivals, the Beethovenfest Bonn, the detect classic festival, the Mozartfest Würzburg, the Festival Podium Esslingen, the Thuringia Bach Festival and the initiative TONALI Hamburg will jointly and independently develop new models and approaches to concert design, for example in dealing with score, composition, staging, contextualisation and choreography. This also applies to the area of organisation, for example in the development of sustainable touring and residency models or the establishment of long-term artistic collaborations. New ideas will also be tested in working with the audience or the local music scene.

Until 2026, knowledge will be exchanged in the form of academies, which will eventually culminate in an international congress of ideas.

Kick - off tuned

At the Beethovenfest 2023, the tuned - network for contemporary classical music presented itself with its ideas and topics: a day full of exchange, discussions and artistic contributions from the six festivals.
