For many music fans the Canadian pianist, Glenn Gould, still holds a special place amongst interpreters of Johann Sebastian Bach’s works. As passionate as his search for the definitive interpretation was Gould’s continuing interest in the technical means of making his interpretations of Bach’s music permanently available to hear. It therefore makes sense to celebrate Glenn Gould's name with the new fellowship which will give artists the opportunity to develop projects about Bach and Baroque music in various media such as recordings or film transpositions. The first fellow is the Irish pianist, Peter Tuite, who has long been involved in creating a filmic version of Bach’s Goldberg Variations.
