Tenebrae

Tenebrae, one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles, comes to the Bach Festival with a truly tempting programme. Alongside motets by Bach is Allegri’s famous Miserere whose history is somewhat of a myth – composed exclusively for Easter week in the Sistine Chapel it was no lesser composer than Mozart who heard the piece during a mass and subsequently wrote it out from memory.
