A few years ago they caused a sensation at the Thuringia Bach Festival: many Bach fans will remember the St Matthew Passion performed in Arnstadt by the French ensemble, Le Concert Lorrain, led by the legendary Christoph Prégardien who appeared as both conductor and evangelist. Prégardien now returns as a soloist – in Bach’s wonderful solo cantatas and with two violin concertos including a no less impressive performer than the Swiss violinist, Leila Schayegh, a Professor at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
