Orlando di Lasso - St Matthew Passion

Even if one nowadays always associates the St Matthew Passion with Johann Sebastian Bach, the Thomas cantor’s masterpiece was by no means the first setting of this Biblical text. Orlando di Lasso, one of the most important 16th Century composers, also wrote a St Matthew Passion, a demanding polyphonic work which is performed here by a leading Scandinavian vocal ensemble.
