Christoph Prégardien
Leila Schayegh

A few years ago they caused a sensation at the Thuringia Bach Festival: many Bach fans will remember the St Matthew Passion performed in Arnstadt by the French ensemble, Le Concert Lorrain, led by the legendary Christoph Prégardien who appeared as both conductor and evangelist. Prégardien now returns as a soloist – in Bach’s wonderful solo cantatas and with two violin concertos including a no less impressive performer than the Swiss violinist, Leila Schayegh, a Professor at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

In Weimar's Stadtkirche St. Peter und Paul, the artists present a "Best of Bach" programme in front of the impressive altarpiece by Lucas Cranach - where Bach baptised six of his children.
