Schumann Quartett
Chiaroscuro

The three brothers, Mark, Erik and Ken Schumann have played together since they were children. In 2012 Liisa Randalu joined them as a viola player. Since then the Schumann Quartet have had an impressive career. They have been influenced by teachers such as Eberhard Feltz and the Alban Berg Quartet and they now play with partners such as Menahem Pressler and Kit Armstrong. Since 2016 they have held a three-year residency with the Chamber Music Society of the Lincoln Centre in New York. For their concert programme in Weimar, under the title of chiaroscuro, the Quartet investigate ways of reducing music to its innermost structure – from Bach to the minimalists Pärt and Glass.
