John Kameel Farah
Works by Bach, Farah, and Schönberg arranged for piano and electronics

The Canadian, John Kameel Farah, is a composer, pianist and artist. In his music minimal arpeggios stand beside contrapuntal structures which are overlaid with influences from jazz, electro-acoustic, and harmonies and rhythms from the Near East or drum and bass. Using piano, synthesiser, computer, all at the same time he creates unique complex sound webs. In homage to the Bauhaus, Farah plays preludes from Bach’s Well-tempered Clavier in arrangements for piano and electronics and combines these with his own works. Thus we discover Bach as a master of structure and ultimately as a composer in whose work the ideals of the Bauhaus were already foreshadowed in musical form.
