It is already 55 years since the internationally best-known a cappella ensemble was established from the famous King’s College in Cambridge in England. Since then the sextet has had several generations of changes behind it, but the rejuvenated formation still retains the aspiration to highest quality which has been demonstrated in the ensemble’s 120 concerts a year around the world but also in cooperation with people like Paul McCartney and Evelyn Glennie. Their repertoire creates a bridge from the Renaissance to the present day, composers such as Ligeti, Penderecki and Takemitsu have written works for the King’s Singers.
