Bach’s B Minor Mass is Unesco World Heritage

The manuscript of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Mass in B Minor has been officially endorsed as a Unesco World Heritage Site since the end of 2017. The only complete score from Bach’s lifetime was written by the composer shortly before his death. The work is considered a milestone in the history of music.
And also the Thuringian Bach Weeks have the masterpiece in the program: Bach’s great B Minor Mass forms the finale of an Easter weekend full of high points. For a performance of this opus ultimum in a historic location, Bach specialist, Hans-Christoph Rademann, has assembled outstanding interpreters – as well as excellent soloists they include the choir and orchestra of the Gaechinger Cantorey which he took over from Helmuth Rilling a few years ago. Their first recording together was the B Minor Mass and the press praised their “exquisite interpretation” (Concerti).
